The idea
Most handmade things are anonymous. A Wyraj bird arrives with a name, a story, and an NFC certificate you can verify. That's what turns a craft object into something you keep, collect, and gift forward.
Every bird is wound by hand from wool — colour, crest and posture never repeat. Yours is the only one that will ever exist.
Each bird receives a real Slavic name and a character note drawn from old folk meaning — Bożenka, Kalina, Lubomir, Zorya.
A hidden NFC tag links to the bird's certificate page — name, story, maker's mark, edition number. Tap it with any phone. No app needed.
The flock
The flock grows slowly. When a bird finds a home, it's gone for good — there's no second copy.

The certificate page
Every bird has an NFC chip hidden inside. Touch your phone to it. No app, no setup, just tap.
Its own web page opens: name, character note, the date it was wound, and the maker behind it.
A unique ID confirms it's an edition of one. The certificate stays with the bird forever — even if you gift it forward.
Where the name comes from
Birds, the old tales say, are carriers of souls. Each autumn they leave for Wyraj, an otherworld beyond the sea and the clouds, and each spring they return — sometimes bringing a new soul home with them. To name a bird was to give it a keeping.
"A bird without a name is just feathers. A bird with one is a small, kept soul."
That's the whole idea behind the studio. Every Wyraj bird is wound by hand, named in the old way, and sent out with its story — so that something this small still gets to be someone.
Adopt a bird
When you adopt a Wyraj bird, it's the only one of its kind. It comes boxed, named, and ready to be tapped. Once it's gone, it's gone.
New birds drop in small batches. Leave your email and we'll tell you the moment the next ones go live — before anyone else.
